Liminal space

an “in-between” zone; a transitional environment, a threshold or a bridge, the uncomfortable transition between “what was” and “whats next”. The vast uncertain periods of life; changing careers, graduating, or recovering from a major life shift.

About my life…

I

Later, when I felt extreme anger after the betrayal and breakup of a relationship, I changed countries. I volunteered to work in rural Zululand, for a year, without electricity or running water, the only white woman in the project. Living in a foreign culture, not knowing the language with only my heart for communication.

When I lost my job unexpectedly, I started my own well-being business. In a leadership role, I participated in visioning and strategising for an adult educational charity. I spoke in public, presented courses and facilitated group workshops.

My life has been a journey between the intimate and the collective. Early on I joined an intentional community of people with the same values and spiritual understanding. Then, doing bookkeeping and managing people’s projects, offering astrological insights, doing shadow work, running seminars and creating workshops. Often improvising while stepping into the unknown without a full script.

Much later, when we decided to relocate back to the UK, we lost everything we possessed in a warehouse fire. All my husband and my material goods were waiting for a container before continuing their onward journey. That same year I lost my job – resigning because of the lack of integrity from the leader of the organisation. And with that, I lost my community and walked away. I lost all of what had anchored me for nearly 30 years.

My life’s not been about qualifications or a specialist niche, my assets are credible experience and the ability to hold people with warmth and intelligence.

I offer clarity, recognition and the permission to be whole.
